Chinatown Nights Cultural Festival at Forsyth Plaza for Summer 2021


Think!Chinatown hosts a monthly cultural festival at Forsyth Plaza for Summer 2021. Working through the Neighborhoods Now initiative sponsored by Van Alen Institute and Urban Design Forum, LSS partnered with Asian Americans for Equality, Think!Chinatown, di Domenico + Partners, and Buro Happold to design and develop the monthly open-air program to support local vendors, showcase local artists, and activate underutilized public space in neighborhoods hard-hit by COVID-19. Future programming will include live public performances, art installations, and food from neighborhood restaurants.

LSS joined the conversation of What About Learning?: The Road Trip Symposium on 22nd, 25th + 26th of September. The three sessions on alternative models of learning welcomed a wide-ranging panel of international speakers to share diverse thoughts on dispersed knowledge sharing as a spatial practice in the expanded field. The sessions were structured around the themes of pedagogy, activism and art + community, with contributions from educations, practitioners and provocateurs working in varied contexts.
